Kato's extended stay

A few days of Wags: Kato’s Extended Stay Begins!

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Kato back for an extended three-night stay recently. If you’ve ever wondered what "pure joy" looks like in canine form, look no further than this boy. Here’s a look at how his first 48 hours went!

Day 1: The Bounce and the "Kong Incident"

Kato didn't just walk through the door; he arrived full of bounce. Within minutes, he was making sure everyone felt welcome in their own home with a flurry of kisses and cuddles.

After the initial excitement, we headed out to the garden for some playtime with a brand-new Kong ball. He’s a natural athlete and loved chasing it across the grass, but the real fun started once we got back inside.

The Verdict: Kato decided that the ball’s fluff was purely optional. He spent the afternoon meticulously "de-fluffing" it. We think it’s safe to say that ball officially belongs to Kato now!

To wind down from a busy afternoon of toy destruction, we took a long evening walk to enjoy the fresh air. By the time we got back, Kato was more than ready to curl up and settle down for a peaceful first night.

Day 2: The Sock Heist and Morning Vibes

If Day 1 was about high energy, Day 2 was all about feeling at home.

Kato woke up after a clearly fantastic night's sleep, looking nice and relaxed. Once he was let loose in the morning, he wasted no time in finding a new prize to add to his collection: a sock.

There’s something about a dog claiming a sock that tells you they’re truly comfortable. He carried his new "trophy" around with a sense of pride that only a happy pup can manage. It’s been a joy seeing him settle into his routine so quickly—relaxed, confident, and always ready for the next adventure.

Stay tuned for the rest of Kato’s adventures!!

Day 3: The Detective and the Great Kitchen Boycott

As Kato’s three-night stay came to a close, he decided it was time to put his professional tracking skills to the test and, eventually, negotiate his sleeping arrangements. Here is how his final day unfolded!

Sun, Sniffs, and Secret Scents
Day 3 was all about the great outdoors. We took advantage of the beautiful weather with two long walks in the sunshine, giving Kato plenty of time to investigate every blade of grass and lamp post in the neighborhood.

However, Kato wasn't just casually strolling—he was on a mission. We are almost certain he picked up the "ghost" of a previous guest.

The Detective at Work: Kato’s nose was practically glued to the floor for most of the walk. He seemed to be following a very specific trail, and we’re convinced he was tracking the scent of our previous resident, Boris. It was like watching a furry Sherlock Holmes at work!

The Evening Negotiation
After a busy day of investigative work, Kato decided that he’d had enough of "roughing it" in the kitchen. When it came time to settle down for his final night, he made it very clear that the kitchen tiles simply weren't going to cut it anymore.

Whether it was the comfort of the carpets or just wanting to be closer to his humans, Kato officially moved upstairs. He spent his last night sleeping peacefully in our room, proving once and for all that he’d well and truly made himself part of the family.

A Tail-Wagging Success
From shredding his Kong ball to claiming socks and tracking down Boris, Kato’s stay was a total joy. He arrived with a bounce and left with our hearts (and probably a few of our socks!). We’re already looking forward to the next time this professional sniffer comes to visit.
